Following the reopening of the Center, our team was at work out in the community. The Florida Philanthropic Network invited Center Executive Director Marcus A. Brooks, along with the Foundation’s Technology and Administration Manager, Lisa Yacso, to Orlando to speak at their Statewide Summit on Philanthropy. Their presentation, Deepening the Equity Journey: The Art and Science of Equity, shared how the Center uses the combination of the art of relationships and the science of process to advance racial equity in St. Petersburg.
Back in St. Pete, Harold Bryant Jr., the Center’s Community Experience Coordinator, and Kyandra Darling, the Center’s Innovation Officer, met with students at Tyrone Middle School as part of the Male Leadership Institute Program. They shared their connection to their community, their roles of service, and how their work for the Foundation and Center are focused on achieving racial equity in St. Pete. Similar meetups at other area schools are planned.
